My Termite Experience
Termite...use to see their dune at Palm Oil Estate....
Firstly discover them in thousands, just right in front of dustbin, underneath a abandon board, part of the abandon furniture which maybe infested with termite....the neighbours seem to treat that area as centre bin or dumping yard...
My reaction was to burn down all the thing there...
The house were vacanted for few months...and my neighbour's sister in law family came for a visit, with intention to rent or buy it...where I thought a large wasps nest at ceiling of ground floor toilet, and at walls..on exit we discovered the carporch ceiling sag and break into two part....maybe roof leaking rotted the ceiling frame beam, I thought....
Just this past Saturday, I tried to check out the carporch ceiling...the beams are like cartoon box, and
I discovered a few termite when I break it...My wife told her auntie and her husband try to help out...
with chemical compound he bought and got from his neighbour....
When he saw the beams, he give up...and identified the wasps nest
I thought to be termite mud track...and just left the chemical with me...
The next day as I cleaned the mud track or wasps nest I thought...and discovered termites when the mud track removed...
Trying out on my own with baiting, I got from shop....and those chemical left behind...I found that
I might get the chemical into my eye, when applying upward ...and the area seem too large for me ....I decided to get the termite buster or professional eliminator...
The next day two companies inspector visited and proposed post construction method...which I noted that my house is a terrace...they only cut off the path underneath my house...but left entry and exit points open through my adjacent neighbour...
I asked for baiting system....four company's inspector turn out, and they discovered more termite..
It seems to me when the house is occupied, the termite activities will reduced....Should I used my naive baiting and chemical method to chase termite...or adopt the professional baiting system...I wonder??? and my neighbours seemed to have doubt on professional system!!!
I followed a termite team to install the baits at terrace house, the staircae...back ceiling and upstair is serious damaged, although it is not vacated...maybe vacant when the tenants go to work!!
Finally I confirmed a team for the peace of my mind....on 3pm Thursday....
Treat it as a community service to my area...maybe the neighbourhood should group together and get termite out of the area.....
In hindsight....I may be able to chase the termite out just by switching on radio near termite active area !!!!!
without killing them, but chase them to my neighbour, just as most of them do with aerosal...chemical...painting etc...
It seems a bad investment, I should have spent the money repainting the house and repaired the damaged done by the termite....and rent the place out to a three generation family...where there will always be someone in the house most of the time....
Instead I spended the money for a peace of mind....where new termite from other nest may pay a visit....in future.....regular repainting or renovation seems to do the trick to keep termite out.
